At the minimum of the steady vertical-field magnetoconvection dispersion relation, stationarity gives Rc=2(kc2+π2)3/π2. With nonmagnetic value R0=27π4/4, eliminating the critical wavenumber gives the stated relation and kc2=π2[23(Rc/R0)1/3−1]. These hold for every nonnegative Chandrasekhar number, including its zero-field limit.
