For a normalized condensate orbital ϕ=π−3/4a0−3/2e−r2/(2a02) and ψ=Nϕ, the contact interaction functional is EI=(U0/2)∫∣ψ∣4d3r. The Gaussian integral gives ∫∣ϕ∣4d3r=[(2π)3/2a03]−1. With U0=4πℏ2a/m, this becomes EI/(Nℏω)=Na/(2πa0). An exact number-state pair count replaces N2 by N(N−1).
