Gravitational-wave frequency ($f_{\mathrm{GW}}$)

The gravitational-wave frequency is the temporal oscillation frequency of a radiative metric perturbation. A rigid source rotating with angular frequency $\omega$ and invariant under a half-turn radiates dominantly at angular frequency $2\omega$.
