For a target corner (α,β) in the Greene–Nijenhuis–Wilf hook walk, put Ai=h(i,β)−1 and Bj=h(α,j)−1. The probability of terminating there from (a,b) factors as FaGb, where Fα=Gβ=1, Fa=Aa−1∏i=a+1α−1(1+Ai−1) for a<α, and Gb=Bb−1∏j=b+1β−1(1+Bj−1) for b<β. It is zero when the start is outside the target's northwest rectangle. The factorization uses h(i,j)−1=Ai+Bj and the first-step recurrence.
