For the exterior wave
ψ(r)=re−ikr+k−iλk+iλtanh(λr)reikr,
(1)
the partial-wave scattering matrix is
S0(k)=−k−iλk+iλ=λ+ikλ−ik.
(2)
Thus tanδ0=−k/λ, the scattering length is 1/λ, and the pole at k=iλ represents a bound state of energy −ℏ2λ2/(2m) whose exterior wavefunction is proportional to sech(λr)/r.
