For a possibly noncommutative ring and central ti​, the formal exterior basis gives free bimodules with differential d(ei1​​∧⋯∧eik​​)=∑a​(−1)a−1tia​​ei1​​∧⋯eia​​​⋯∧eik​​. Centrality makes this a bimodule differential. Pairwise cancellation proves d2=0.
