For symmetric L and antisymmetric A satisfying L˙=LA−AL, solve Q˙​=−AQ, Q(0)=I. Then Q is orthogonal and QTLQ is constant. Hence every eigenvalue and every coefficient of the characteristic polynomial of L is conserved.
