Differentiate fs=∣t∣2−αgf,±(h/∣t∣Δ) with respect to its conjugate field. A finite nonzero one-sided ordered-branch amplitude gives β=2−α−Δ. To approach a finite critical isotherm as t→0 at fixed small h, the large-argument function must behave as gm(x)∼Csgn(x)∣x∣1/δ. Cancelling the remaining thermal power yields β=Δ/δ. An analytic background, branch selection and thermodynamic limit must be distinguished from the singular free energy being differentiated.
