With a mostly-plus metric signature, define fd=(1/i)∫ddk/[(2π)d(k2−iϵ)((P−k)2−iϵ)]. Wick rotation and a Feynman parameter give fd=Γ(2−d/2)(4π)−d/2∫01[x(1−x)P2]d/2−2dx. At nonzero Euclidean P2, the Gamma function supplies the pole. Exceptional massless momentum can introduce infrared ambiguity.
