For the antidiagonal symmetric matrix J in dimension 2n, put iˉ=2n+1−i and Hi=Eii−Eiˉiˉ. The diagonal Cartan subalgebra has coordinates εi(H)=ti. The root spaces of weights εi−εj are spanned by Eij−Ejˉiˉ; those of weights εi+εj by Eijˉ−Ejiˉ, with negative-root spaces given by transposes. The condition Aij=−Ajˉiˉ gives these generators directly and excludes roots 2εi.
