The physical massive-particle Pauli-Lubanski pseudovector obeys W⋅P=0 and W2=−m2c2∣srest∣2 for classical rest-frame spin. Orthogonality by itself does not establish this normalization. In particular the components W=(s⋅p,(E/c)s) give W2=−m2c2∣s∣2−∣s×p∣2; dividing by mc∣s∣ is a unit spacelike normalization only when the cross product vanishes.
