Use ϵ123=1 and orientation dτ∧dx1∧dx2∧dx3. A τ-independent gauge curvature has mixed component Fiτ=DiΦ. If Bi=DiΦ, its two-form is ∑cyclicBi(dxj∧dxk−dτ∧dxi). The Hodge star operator interchanges the two displayed basis forms, so ∗F=−F. With orientation dx1∧dx2∧dx3∧dτ the same lift is self-dual; changing the sign of its dτ component instead recovers anti-self-duality. Orientation must therefore accompany any stated sign in this reduction.
