For h∈G, right-multiplying by D2(h)−1 gives
D1(h)TD2(h)−1=∑g∈GD1(hg)BD2(g−1h−1).
(1)
Make the bijective substitution k=hg, so g−1h−1=k−1. The sum becomes ∑kD1(k)BD2(k−1)=T. Hence
D1(h)T=TD2(h)(h∈G).
(2)
Thus T is an intertwining operator from the second group representation to the first. This is the Schur averaging of rectangular matrices construction.
