The Yoneda embedding sends A to hA=C(−,A) and u:A→B to postcomposition hu:hA→hB. Apply the Yoneda lemma with X=hB:
Nat(hA,hB)≅hB(A)=C(A,B).
(1)
The inverse sends u precisely to hu, because its component at C maps f:C→A to uf. Hence the induced maps on all hom-sets are bijections. The Yoneda embedding is full and faithful.
