Use the exterior-normalized Killing vector field K=∂t=∂v from the previous part. In Ingoing BTZ coordinates, its only nonzero acceleration component on r=r+ is
Kb∇bKv=Γvvv=21f′(r+),Kb∇bKr=21ff′r+=0.
(1)
The defining equation for surface gravity, ∇KK=κK, therefore gives the positive future-branch value
κ=2f′(r+)=ℓ2r+=ℓM.
(2)
This value uses exactly the prescribed Killing vector field normalization. A constant rescaling of the Killing vector field rescales its surface gravity.
