Apply the rotating-frame derivative formula first to position and then to its inertial velocity:
(dtdr)I=r˙+ω×r,
(1)
(dt2d2r)I=r¨+2ω×r˙+ω×(ω×r).
(2)
The angular velocity is constant, so there is no term involving ω˙. By Newton's second law in the inertial frame, the inertial acceleration is F/m. Rearrangement gives the equation of motion in a rotating frame:
mr¨=F−2mω×r˙−mω×(ω×r).
(3)
The two additional accelerations are the Coriolis acceleration and centrifugal acceleration.
