For the general linear group over F31, choose a nonzero first column in 312−1 ways and a second column outside its span in 312−31 ways. Thus
∣GL2(F31)∣=(312−1)(312−31)=27325231.

Since 53=125≡1(mod31) and 5=1, the residue 5 has order three. The nine diagonal matrices diag(5i,5j), with 0≤i,j<3, form a subgroup isomorphic to C3×C3. It is an abelian group and a Sylow subgroup for p=3. Every other Sylow subgroup for p=3 is conjugate to it by the Sylow theorems, hence is also Abelian.
