Use the Clifford algebra to write γνγμ=2ημνI4−γμγν. The Lorentz generator from gamma-matrix commutators is therefore
Sμν=41[γμ,γν]=21γμγν−21ημνI4,A=21,B=−21.
(1)
This also checks the diagonal case μ=ν, where Sμμ=0 because (γμ)2=ημμI4. The metric term in the printed expression is understood to multiply the identity matrix. The generators are antisymmetric in their two spacetime indices.
