Urn i has 2i balls, so a draw from it is white with probability 2−i. Given that the first ball is white, Bayes theorem gives the posterior probability
P(I=i∣W)=∑j=1n2−j2−i.
(1)
After replacement, the second draw is conditionally independent of the first given the urn. Hence
p(n)=∑i=1n2−i∑i=1n4−i=1−2−n31(1−4−n)=31(1+2−n).
(2)
Consequently p(n)→1/3.
