Termwise differentiation of a Fourier series multiplies a mode by its wavenumber, so
(fx)m,n=iπmfm,n,(fy)m,n=iπnfm,n.
(1)
The convolution theorem turns pointwise multiplication into discrete convolution:
h=fg=∑p,q∑r,sfp,qgr,seiπ(p+r)x+iπ(q+s)y,
(2)
so
hm,n=p,q∈Z∑fp,qgm−p,n−q.
(3)
The assumed real analyticity justifies these termwise operations through rapid decay of the Fourier coefficients.
