The inverse metric condition is

Keeping only terms linear in the metric perturbation gives
kαβ​+hαβ​=0.

Thus the linearized inverse metric is
kαβ=−hαβ​,gαβ=ηαβ−hαβ+O(ϵ2)​,

where indices on hαβ​ are raised with the Minkowski metric.
