Use partial fraction decomposition:
4−x21=41(2+x1+2−x1).
(1)
Integrating gives
I(x)=41log2−x2+x+C.
(2)
This real antiderivative is valid on each interval avoiding x=±2, with its own integration constant. In particular, I(1)−I(0)=41log3.
