If γi​:Li​→(Mi​,ωi​) are one-dimensional immersed curves in symplectic surfaces, then
γ1​×γ2​:L1​×L2​⟶(M1​×M2​,ω1​⊕ω2​)

is a Lagrangian immersion. A double point of one factor times the other curve becomes a clean self-intersection circle.
