For a quasi-isometry f:X→Y with multiplicative constant λ and additive/coarse-surjectivity constant ϵ, choose f′(y) with dY(f(f′(y)),y)≤ϵ. The triangle inequality and the two distortion inequalities give
λ−1dY(y,y′)−3ϵ/λ≤dX(f′(y),f′(y′))≤λdY(y,y′)+3λϵ.

Also dX(f′(f(x)),x)≤2λϵ. Hence f′ is a quasi-isometry and both composites stay uniformly close to their respective identities. No continuity is required.
