For the real scalar field with metric (+,−) and potential U=κ2(ϕ2−1)2/2, the static phi-four kink is ϕ0(x)=tanh(κx) and satisfies ϕ0′2=2U(ϕ0). Its mass is M=∫ϕ0′2dx=4κ/3. A Lorentz boost gives ϕ(t,x)=ϕ0(γ(x−vt)). The stress-energy tensor gives P=−∫ϕtϕxdx=γv∫ϕ0′2dx=γMv. Similarly, E=21[γ(1+v2)+γ−1]M=γM, proving the energy–momentum relation E2−P2=M2.
