Singular simplicial set ($\mathrm{Sing}X$)

The singular simplicial set of a topological space $X$ has the continuous maps ${\Delta }^n\to X$ as its $n$-simplices. Evaluation gives a natural weak homotopy equivalence $|\mathrm{Sing}X|\to X$.
