The projective locus where
(y0y2y1y3y2y4)
(1)
has rank one is cut out by its three 2×2 minors. It is a smooth surface: on each of the charts y0=0, y1=0, y3=0, and y4=0, the equations eliminate three coordinates and leave two free affine coordinates; these charts cover the locus.
