Let a thin spherical shell have equilibrium radius a0, mass m per unit area, and radial restoring stiffness κ per unit area. If it encloses gas of density ρ0 and sound speed c0, its spherically symmetric normal-mode frequencies obey
θ2(1+θcotθ−1α)=mc02κa02,θ=c0ωa0,α=mρ0a0.

The fraction is the frequency-dependent acoustic added mass of the enclosed gas.
