For ice accumulation a=A(1−x/ℓ), regular zero flux at the apex gives
hs3=DA(2x−3ℓx2),0<x<23ℓ.

The steady zero-thickness terminus is at 3ℓ/2, below the snowline x=ℓ. Accumulation above the snowline exactly balances ice ablation below it.
