A path graph state on three qubits simulates two successive gates U(θ)=Hdiag(1,e−iθ)=J(−θ). Measure vertex one in the equatorial qubit measurement basis ∣vr(α)⟩=(∣0⟩+(−1)reiα∣1⟩)/2, then vertex two at angle (−1)rβ, obtaining bits r,s. Two one-bit teleportations and U(θ)X=e−iθZU(−θ) leave vertex three in XsZrU(β)U(α)∣+⟩, up to global phase. A computational output bit z is corrected to z⊕s; the Z factor affects only phase. Adaptive sign choice is required for general angles, although the final bit correction is purely classical.
