For unit-radius metric dy2+e−2yημνdxμdxν, translations conserve pμ=e−2yx˙μ. Timelike normalization gives K2=−ημνpμpν>0 and y˙2=K2e2y−1. Setting w=e−y yields w˙2+w2=K2, hence the displayed proper-time solution where the cosine is positive. Its two patch-horizon crossings are separated by proper time π, although the globally extended geodesic is complete.
