For a uniform pro-p group, the power map x↦xpn is a homeomorphism onto Gpn. Transport multiplication back to G by
x+ny=(xpnypn)p−n.

Unique roots make this an associative group operation. For odd p, group commutator collection gives x+ny≡y+nx(modGpn+1) and x+ny≡x+n−1y(modGpn). The operations converge to addition in the Lie algebra of a uniform pro-p group.
