For a bounded open U⊂Rn, m2>0, and f∈L2(U), there is a unique u∈H01(U) such that
∫U(∇u⋅∇v+m2uv)=∫Ufv
(1)
for every v∈H01(U).

Weak Dirichlet problem for the massive Laplacian
The solution operator (−Δ+m2)−1:L2(U)→L2(U) is compact on every bounded open set because it maps boundedly into H01(U) and the Rellich-Kondrashov compactness theorem for H01 embeds that space compactly into L2(U).
