If an≥0, ∑an<∞, and p>1/2, then
∑nann−p≤(∑nan)1/2(∑nn−2p)1/2<∞.
(1)
The endpoint can fail: an=1/(n(logn)2) gives the divergent series ∑1/(nlogn).
