Git tips / Understand the commit tree Updated +Created
This is the most important thing to understand Git!
You must:
  • be able to visualize the commit tree
  • understand how each git command modifies the commit DAG

Quantum Field Theory lecture notes by David Tong (2007) Updated +Created
Number of pages circa 2021: 155.
It should also be noted that those notes are still being updated circa 2020 much after original publication. But without Git to track the LaTeX, it is hard to be sure how much. We'll get there one day, one day.
Some quotes self describing the work:

It basically replaces a bunch of discrete digital components with a single chip. So you don't have to wire things manually.
Particularly fundamental if you would be putting those chips up a thousand cell towers for signal processing, and ever felt the need to reprogram them! Resoldering would be fun, would it? So you just do a over the wire update of everything.
Vs a microcontroller: same reason why you would want to use discrete components: speed. Especially when you want to do a bunch of things in parallel fast.
One limitation is that it only handles digital electronics: electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/25525/are-there-any-analog-fpgas There are some analog analogs, but they are much more restricted due to signal loss, which is exactly what digital electronics is very good at mitigating.

Option 1) git commit. Doh!!!
Option 2) git rebase. Basically allows you to do arbitrary modifications to the tree. The most important ones are:

2020-12: buying Miele SF AP 50 AirClean Plus filter www.miele.co.uk/e/airclean-plus-filter-sf-ap-50-10107860-p. Once it arrived, changed the filter, which fit comes with plastic casing and accordion shaped filter. Also changed bag. But the bag full meter still goes to red on carpet even with everything new while vacuuming. Is it supposed to be checked while not vacuuming?
