Andrey Kolmogorov formulated the modern measure-theoretic axioms of probability in his 1933 Grundbegriffe. A probability measure assigns total mass one and countably additive weights to events. This makes probability a mathematical structure that can be used across very different random experiments.[ref]

Source.Andrey Kolmogorov (1903–1987) was a prominent Russian mathematician who made significant contributions to various fields, including probability theory, mathematical logic, and turbulence. He is best known for formulating the modern axiomatic approach to probability, which established a rigorous foundation for the field. His work laid the groundwork for both theoretical and applied probability.
