 Exoplanet transit photometry

Exoplanet transit photometry measures the stellar flux decrement as an exoplanet crosses the visible stellar disc. After accounting for stellar intensity variation and transit geometry, its depth is approximately $(R_p/R_{\star }{)}^2$, determining a radius ratio rather than an absolute planetary radius.
