The ideal magnetohydrodynamic shock conditions are the Rankine-Hugoniot jump conditions for mass, momentum, energy, and magnetic flux. For a dynamically weak magnetic field, the normal field is continuous while the tangential field is multiplied by the gas compression ratio.
