First-order integration at a fixed equilibrium coordinate gives $\xi =-U\sin \theta /\omega$, $\upsilon =V\cos \theta /\omega$. The particle trajectory is an ellipse with axis ratio $|f|/\omega$. For positive $f$, the orbit is clockwise in the $(x,y)$ plane.
