TODO: The displayed bone is unavailable and unidentified; its name, side and individual attachments cannot be determined from the paper. This leaf remains incomplete.
With the actual bone, first establish its identity and anatomical position from its shape and characteristic landmarks. Where applicable, establish the side by combining several landmarks rather than choosing a side from an isolated prominence. Describe the ends or principal parts, surfaces, borders, processes, grooves and openings in a reproducible order. Identify the surfaces forming each anatomical joint, their partners and any covering of cartilage evident or inferred from the normal anatomy. Do not claim that a dry preparation retains all the soft parts.
Then give each named muscle, its exact attachment landmark and whether this is its muscle origin or muscle insertion. Name the attached ligaments and any passing or attached tendons, distinguishing a groove transmitting a tendon from a true muscle insertion. A tendon is the means by which many muscles attach; it should not be counted as an unrelated second attachment. An appropriate completed record would therefore associate every attachment with a named landmark, rather than merely list neighbouring muscles. No such specimen-specific record can be filled in here without inventing the missing bone.
