Axial chromatic aberration, also called longitudinal chromatic aberration, is colour-dependent focus position along the optical axis. For incident light rays parallel to the optical axis, it appears as a changing focal length. The chromatic aberration diagram isolates this effect using an ideal thin lens at each colour.
