The binomial transform of a sequence ak is bn=∑k=0n(kn)ak. When ak counts objects on a specified set of k positions, bn counts the choices obtained by selecting those positions from n and filling them with such an object. Its inverse is an=∑k=0n(−1)n−k(kn)bk, by binomial inversion.
