For J=(01−10), the real matrix solutions of AJ=JA are precisely
A=uI+vJ=(uv−vu),u,v∈R.
(1)
A nonzero such matrix equals u2+v2Rθ, where Rθ is a planar rotation matrix with cosθ=u/u2+v2 and sinθ=v/u2+v2. It acts like multiplication by the complex number u+iv. The zero matrix is the zero scalar multiple of any rotation.
