For events Bn∈Fn, put pn=P(Bn∣Fn−1). Then ∑n1Bn<∞ almost surely on {∑npn<∞}, while ∑n1Bn=∞ almost surely on {∑npn=∞}. The proof applies the Martingale convergence theorem to compensated sums ∑j≤n(1Bj−pj) and uses Kronecker lemma in the divergent case.
