A pair field transforms as Ψ↦eiqχ/ℏΨ when A↦A+∇χ. Its phase gradient alone is gauge dependent; ps=ℏ∇θ−qA is invariant. With ϕ↦ϕ−∂tχ, the temporal combination ℏθ˙+qϕ is also invariant. The supercurrent is j=qρsps/m∗. A negative electronic pair charge is consistent with either sign of current once this convention is retained throughout.
