A flywheel's spin angular momentum Lf must turn with the vehicle. The vehicle supplies torque Ω×Lf to maintain this precession, and experiences the opposite reaction torque. With right-handed axes x forward, y left and z up, a left turn has Ω=+Ωz. A transverse flywheel with Lf=−Lfy then produces body torque −ΩLfx, opposing outward roll. Its magnitude is Lfv/Rb for turn radius Rb. Reversing the flywheel reverses the effect.
