The Hölder exponent in Hölder continuity measures the power in the bound ∣f(x)−f(y)∣≤C∣x−y∣α. For 0<α≤1, a larger exponent imposes stronger local regularity on bounded distance ranges. Exponent one is Lipschitz continuity.
