For a proper prior distribution π(θ) independent of coalescent times T, let q(T)=∏j=2nλje−λjTj with λj=(2j) and L=∑jTj. Observing S=k under an infinite sites mutation model gives posterior density π(θ)q(T)e−θL/2(θL/2)k/(k!mk), where mk is the prior predictive probability of S=k. Multiplication by the conditional Poisson mass and normalization is an application of Bayes' theorem.
