When the mass is constant V+>0 above the wall and V−<0 below it, amplitude decay lengths are ξ+=ℏc/V+ and ξ−=ℏc/∣V−∣. A scalar transverse envelope multiplying a unit spinor has normalization 2/(ξ++ξ−). Density decays twice as fast as amplitude.
