For a measure-preserving transformation and real integrable f, let Skf=∑j<kf∘Tj. For EN={max1≤k≤NSkf>0} the lemma asserts ∫ENfdμ≥0. Passing to the increasing union gives the corresponding infinite-supremum inequality.
